Starting Your Shift Or Resuming After A Long Break

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1 

Make Hotspot Discoverable

    1. Depending on your iPhone version:
      • For iPhones with Face ID: Swipe down from the top right of the screen
      • For iPhones with Home Button: Swipe up from the bottom left of the screen
    2. Tap and hold the centre of the icon panel to see more shortcut icons
      • Wi-Fi should not be connected (icon should be white)
      • Mobile Data should be connected (icon should be green)
      • Make Personal Hotspot ‘Discoverable‘ (tap if necessary)
      • If Personal Hotspot is already discoverable, switch it off and then switch it on again

Step 2

Switch on the Payment device

  1. Switch on the e285 payment device by connecting to power or pressing green ‘O’ key for few seconds
  2. The screen displays Main Menu, indicating the e285 payment device is powered on
  3. A Wi-Fi symbol should be displayed in the top left corner.

Step 3

Log into the Payment device

  1. Press 1 – Log In User
  2. Enter User Id will be displayed
  3. Enter your Login Id (sent in Welcome Letter) followed by the green ‘O’ key
  4. Enter Password will be displayed
  5. Enter your Password (sent in Welcome Letter) followed by the green ‘O’ key
  6. The screen display Sale – Enter Amount
  7. The device is ready to take payments

Ending Your Shift Or Taking A Long Break

When you finish work or take a break, follow these simple steps before you leave your vehicle

Step 1

Shut down Payment device by pressing the red ‘X’ for a few seconds until the Power Panel menu is displayed

Step 2

Next select ‘Shutdown’ and the device will switch off

Getting Yourself Reconnected

The Payment device should connect to Wi-Fi and login with the above steps. If it can’t, here are a few simple steps to help you get back up and running

Step 1

Ensure that your mobile data is connected

Step 2

Ensure that Wi-Fi is disabled

Step 3

Ensure that the mobile hotspot on your iPhone is activated and discoverable

Step 4

If there is no hotspot icon, access your device settings

Step 5

Disable the mobile hotspot (if it’s active), and turn it on again

Step 6

Restart Payment device by pressing the red ‘X’ for a few seconds until the menu is displayed

Step 7

Next select ‘Reboot‘ and the device will restart and automatically connect
